This is our new Deer Border started a couple of months ago and planted up only a week ago. The plants are mainly from one of our nursery suppliers who supplied the Garden Centre I worked in - the Nursery was Highland Liliums situated just outside the pretty village of Beauly near Inverness. They apparently no longer wholesale plants to garden centres and only grow plants to retail at their own garden centre. Tidy, smallish garden centre with a nice selection of plants including some unusual varieties.
Also visited Abriachin Nurseries on the banks of Loch Ness. Really interesting garden with some rare and unusual plants once again, with a small nursery situated at the side of the car park. Bought about half a dozen plants from them including Dactylorhiza purpurella (spotted marsh orchid) which I bought from them about twenty years ago and lost in a very long hot Summer. So hopefully all of these plants will perform well in our Deer Border - time will tell!
